New Jesuit Studies Cafés for Spring 2019

Jesuit Studies Café offers unique opportunities to learn about the newest research in Jesuit Studies. The informal conversations are hosted by the Institute and are also available via Zoom video-conference. The 2019 schedule is now available. Summer Immersion Course

The Institute welcomes applications for “In the Footsteps of Leaders,” a three-credit course that includes 12 days of guided travel in July to examine the foundation of the Society of Jesus. To learn more, please visit the Institute’s website (bc.edu/iajs). Applications and supporting materials are due in February.

About the Portal

A Catholic Library World article explains the story behind the Portal to Jesuit Studies–its origins, development, collaborators, and future plans. The article received the 2019 John Brubaker Award to recognize an outstanding work of literary merit.

New collaborative project available soon:

The Jesuit Online Bibliography will offer a free, multilingual, and fully searchable database of bibliographical records of scholarship in Jesuit Studies. It will be available in Open Access at jesuitonlinebibliography.com.

The Jesuit Online Bibliography will be a collaborative resource between Jesuit research centers and archives as well as scholars in the field of Jesuit Studies. A voluntary network of correspondents and individual scholars and publishers will contribute to the project, which will consist of thousands records in nearly 50 languages.

With the support of the project’s collaborating institutions, this resource is available in Open Access. Users also have the option to create a free account to save searches and to bookmark results.

The bibliographic records will be aggregated within the search capabilities of the Portal to Jesuit Studies.
